Early on in my career, I had the opportunity to work with a client, whom I’ll call Sarah. Sarah came in because her relationship had just ended and she was feeling depressed and hopeless. She didn’t understand what had gone wrong and couldn’t figure it out on her own. What she did know was that she was is so much pain that she needed help.
Through our work together, she understood what had happened in her relationship and saw the patterns that she had been repeating, even prior to that relationship, and why. She began to make different choices and felt more empowered. Her mood improved as she practiced new skills and realized that she could do things differently than she had in the past. This had a snowball effect that led to her also making career changes that she had only dreamed of before. She came to realize that she had the skills that it takes to have a happy, long-lasting relationship. She did move on to a healthier relationship and, last I saw her, she was happily engaged.
As I worked with Sarah and saw the wonderful changes in her life, I realized that I wanted to devote my career to helping people like her, and that’s what I’ve been doing for over a decade now.
If you’re interested in my credentials, I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University and am fully licensed by New York State. Prior to becoming a psychologist, I had a successful career in business management in a Fortune 500 company for over a decade. I changed careers because I wanted to help people in a meaningful way and now I’m doing exactly that.
I look forward to meeting you.
