Early on in my career, I had the opportunity to work with a client, whom I’ll call Sarah. Sarah came in because she was getting divorced and feeling depressed and hopeless. She didn’t understand what had gone wrong and couldn’t figure it out on her own. What she did know was that she was is so much pain that she needed help.
Through our work together, she understood what had happened in her marriage and saw the patterns that she had been repeating, even prior to her marriage, and why. Her mood improved as she realized that she could do things differently than she had in the past. She began to make different choices and felt more empowered. This had a snowball effect that led to her also making career changes that she had only dreamed of during her marriage. She also came to realize that she had the skills that it takes to have a happy, long-lasting relationship. She did move on to a healthier relationship and, last I saw her, she was engaged.
As I worked with Sarah and saw the wonderful changes in her life, I realized that I wanted to devote my career to helping people like her, and that’s what I’ve been doing for over 10 years now.
If you’re interested in my credentials, I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. Prior to becoming a psychologist, I held a management position in a Fortune 500 company for over a decade. I changed careers because I wanted to help people in a way that felt meaningful to me, and now I’m doing exactly that. I truly believe that we all deserve love and a fulfilling life.
I look forward to meeting you.
